Working with AIPIA from the United States
Six ways American organizations work with the association, from a single introduction to a signed memorandum. Every agreement is concluded with AIPIA, in Rome.
Types of collaboration
Pick the one closest to your situation. Many partnerships combine two, and the first call is where we sort that out.
- Introductions
- A named introduction to an Italian association, university, standards body, or industry network that fits what you are trying to do. For most American organizations this is where the relationship starts.
- Joint initiatives
- Programs designed together, such as a training cohort for your staff in Italy or a public briefing on a regulatory question. Each one has named people on both sides and a written scope.
- Memoranda of understanding
- A framework agreement that records shared goals, contacts, and duration before any specific project. Universities and associations often use one to formalize cooperation with an Italian counterpart.
- Institutional endorsement
- AIPIA's name on an event, a publication, or a program that meets the association's criteria and its Code of Ethics. The association decides each request and states in writing how its name may be used.
- Corporate membership
- Companies can join AIPIA as corporate members, which connects their Italian teams to the association's activities and community. Corporate membership on en.aipia.it
- Market-entry briefings
- A working session for your leadership on the Italian side of an EU launch: the rules that apply, the organizations that matter, and the roles you will need to fill. Committee members lead it, remotely in East Coast hours or in person in Italy.
How a partnership starts
Three steps, all in English.
- You write to usSend a short note to info@aipia.us with the points listed below.
- An introductory callYou talk with the Chair of the Technical-Scientific Committee, Rafael Patron, at a time that suits the East Coast. Other committee members join when the subject calls for them.
- A written proposalYou receive a proposal naming the people, the format, and the timing. Work begins once both sides have agreed it in writing.
What to send us
Five points are enough for a useful first reply. Plain text is fine.
- Your product or serviceWhat it does, and whether it uses or provides AI systems or general-purpose models.
- Your objective in ItalyCustomers, partners, research, hiring, or an event.
- Your timingDates you are working toward, including any launch or visit.
- The people involvedNames and roles on your side, and who would travel.
- Your preferred languageEnglish, Italian, or both.
